“The International Artificial Intelligence Hackathon 2025” SIT KMUTT

        The International Artificial Intelligence Hackathon 2025, held in Bangkok, Thailand, from 24 – 27 June 2025, is a global competition uniting AI enthusiasts, developers, and researchers to create innovative AI-driven solutions with real-world applications. Organized by the School of Information Technology (SIT), KMUTT, this event celebrates the 30th anniversary of the school and serves as a platform to showcase advancements in AI, foster skill development, and encourage international collaboration. With a strong focus on promoting AI learning, driving innovation, and facilitating knowledge exchange, the hackathon provides an exciting opportunity for participants to push the boundaries of AI technology while connecting with peers from around the world.

 

Theme: Social Transformation for Quality of Life

Participants will develop projects under the theme “Social Transformation for Quality of Life,” focusing on using AI to address social challenges, enhance quality of life, and drive positive change.

  • Bachelor Students with any fields of study
  • Team of 1 – 3 members

  • Winner: 20,000 THB
  • 1 Runner-up: 10,000 THB
  • 2 Runner-up: 5,000 THB

            The submitted project must be an AI solution that addresses social issues affecting quality of life (Social Transformation for Quality of Life). Each team must consist of 1 to 3 undergraduate students. The Hackathon consists of two rounds: Round 1 involves proposal review and prototype presentation, while Round 2 focuses on project development. 

 

Hackathon Participation Rules for Round 1 

  1. Participants must submit a 1-2 page proposal in PDF format (A4 size) in English, including:
    1. Project Name – A clear and concise title reflecting the project’s purpose.
    2. Advisor/Consultant – If applicable (maximum of 2). 
    3. Problem Statement – A brief description of the social issue addressed, including its significance and impact 
    4. Objectives and Scope – The project’s goals and the areas it will cover, specifying any exclusions. 
    5. Proposed Solution – An overview of the approach, including techniques, system architecture, and algorithms.

 

2. Participants must also submit a prototype presentation video in English and provide its URL in the application form for evaluation. 

3. Projects will be assessed based on the following criteria: 

  • Innovation & Creativity – Uniqueness and originality of the idea. 
  • Feasibility – Practicality of development within the given timeframe. 
  • Impact – Potential benefits to users or society. 
  • Prototype – Completeness of functionality and UX/UI design. 

4. The submission deadline for proposals and prototypes is May 15, 2025. The qualified teams for Round 2 will be announced on May 20, 2025. 

5. After the announcement, teams may continue refining or start developing their projects. On June 24, 2025, additional requirements will be provided, which must be implemented within four days.

 

Hackathon Participation Rules for Round 2 

  1. Selected teams will receive a new requirement on June 24, 2025, as an additional challenge. 
  2. Only team members may work on the project; external assistance is not permitted. 
  3. Only listed advisors/consultants in proposals may provide guidance. 
  4. Teams must attend an on-site event at the Learning Exchange (LX) Building, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, from June 24 to June 27, 2025. 
  5. Accommodation is not provided; participants must arrange their own lodging. The event runs during the day only (no overnight stays). 
  6. Snacks, lunch, and power outlets will be provided. 
  7. Participants must bring their own laptops. If using lab computers (09:00 – 17:00), installing new packages is not allowed. 
  8. Teams must update their progress daily. 
  9. Since this is an international event, all presentations and documents must be in English
